The farm was established in the early 1980s and has over 1000 chestnut trees and several hundred walnut trees. We welcome visitors and groups to the farm during the autumn harvest to purchase nuts and have a picnic.
All nuts picked by you are charged per kilogram. If you prefer, we can supply you with nuts already picked and graded for a slightly higher price per kilogram depending on grade and variety.
Buckets and bags for picking and packing are supplied for your convenience.
As demand for our walnuts is usually higher than our supply, we do not have a pick your own policy for walnuts.
If you require walnuts these can be purchased directly from our packing shed when available.
For large orders of pre-packed chestnuts in 10 kilogram bags or walnuts in 5 kilogram bags please telephone to make an order.
Please note that no pets are permitted on the property.

Sassafras is located at an elevation of 750 meters and in autumn can be cooler and wetter than the surrounding Illawarra region.
It is advisable to bring weather proof coats and shoes as well as gloves for picking chestnuts.
